Guide for river users

Colorado River Trail

Downstream from the Highland Lakes, the Colorado River offers some great opportunities for water recreation.

From the Longhorn Dam on Town Lake in Austin, the Colorado slowly meanders 290 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Dozens of public access points dot this part of the river and encourage canoeing, kayaking, and fishing.

LCRA has recommended one- and two-day floats that take you through some of the most scenic parts of the Colorado River.
