POWERHOUSE™: School photos

POWERHOUSE energy investigation program teaches middle school students and their families about the effects of energy use on natural resources and the environment. Utilities sponsor the program for schools within their service areas.
During the 2010-2011 school year, over 6,000 students learned how to use less energy and save natural resources, thanks to POWERHOUSE presentations in 59 schools with 30 sponsoring utilities.

Manor Middle School

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative sponsored the POWERHOUSE™ energy investigation program for Manor Middle School’s sixth-grade science students. The POWERHOUSE program shows students how their actions affect the environment, natural resources and their household budgets. It teaches them habits that can help them save energy and water for the rest of their lives. In the process, they become wiser consumers and better stewards of natural resources.
