Project Name: Kendall to Miller Creek to Paleface Transmission Line Upgrade
Project Location: From Kendall Substation, located east of Comfort, the Miller Creek substations located south of Johnson City and the Paleface Substation located east of Spicewood, TX.
Project Description: LCRA TSC will Rebuild and upgrade the capacity of the existing 57-mile, 138-kV transmission line (conductor and towers) between the Kendall and Paleface substations in Kendall, Blanco, Hays and Travis counties.
Project Need: This project is a component of a broader CREZ Transmission Plan developed by ERCOT and approved by the PUC to integrate over 18,000 MW of renewable generation and deliver this energy to consumers in the most cost-effective manner. A number of transmission lines will provide transmission infrastructure necessary to meet the long-term needs of the growing area west of the I-35 corridor between San Antonio and Killeen.
Project Budget: $33.71 million
