Project Name: Twin Buttes to Big Hill (McCamey D) Transmission Line Addition
Project Location: From the Twin Buttes Substation located north of San Angelo, TX and Big Hill (McCamey D) station located in Schleicher County, TX.
Project Description: LCRA TSC will construct a new 38-mile, 345-kV transmission line between the Twin Buttes and Big Hill (McCamey D) substations in Tom Green and Schleicher counties.
Project Need: This project is a component of a broader CREZ Transmission Plan developed by ERCOT and approved by the PUC to integrate over 18,000 MW of renewable generation and deliver this energy to consumers in the most cost-effective manner. A number of transmission lines will provide transmission infrastructure necessary to meet the long-term needs of the growing area west of the I-35 corridor between San Antonio and Killeen.
Project Budget: $79.453 million
