Nobody's Waterproof: Texas country rocker is water safety campaign's new spokesperson

Country rock artist Kevin Fowler sings about good times and having fun, but he also knows it’s important to play it safe on the water.

That’s why Kevin agreed to be the celebrity spokesman for the 2007 Nobody’s Waterproof™ water safety campaign.

“Like lots of 100 percent Texans, I love having a good time on the water,” Kevin said. “But like the campaign says, ‘Nobody’s Waterproof.’ Play it safe, wear a life jacket, and designate a driver for the boat and a safe ride home.”

For the campaign, Kevin donated his time and talents to record special radio and TV public service announcements. The ads are based on his hit song “100% Texan.” Stations across Texas are playing the ads to help promote water safety.

Nobody’s Waterproof is a fun, interactive social marketing campaign to raise water safety awareness in Texas. The campaign is sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), which initiated the program last year. The campaign has won state, regional and North American awards.
