Shaffer Bend Recreation Area, with 523 acres, is one of LCRA's largest recreation areas on Lake Travis. The terrain, ranging from bottomlands to bluffs and hills, makes for good hiking.

The undeveloped recreation area is good for camping, but campers should be aware that there is no potable water or electricity. There is one portable toilet in the camping area and one waterless restroom at the entry of the park.

Unimproved Camping: Open range primitive camping. Limited number of picnic tables, fire rings and grills available on first-come first-serve basis.

Make reservations online at www.lcra.org/reserve for a $6 transaction fee per site, or call toll-free 855–392–7638 for a $7.50 transaction fee per site.
