Plum Park on the Colorado offers canoeists a great place to put in on the River between Smithville and La Grange. Campers arriving by river can camp overnight as can those who obtain permits. The park's gates close at sundown.

Overnight camping allowed for river traffic only or by permit. For permit information, call 1-800-776-5272, Ext. 3366.

Fees: $5 per vehicle fee to enter the park.

Reservations: None required.

LCRA Recreation Area Annual Vehicle Permit: An annual vehicle permit is available for all LCRA recreation areas: Muleshoe Bend, Grelle Park, Turkey Bend, Gloster Bend and Plum Park. The cost is $50. See instructions on how to purchase your annual permit.

How to get there: From La Grange, take Highway 71 West for about eight miles and turn right on Prairie Valley Road (County Road 448). Travel approximately two miles to the site entrance.
