Central Texas Electric Co-op sponsored the POWERHOUSE energy investigation program for Harper Junior High's 6th grade science classes.

Each student receives an energy investigation guide to take home and fill out. By answering questions such as, "Do any exterior doors have weather stripping" students perform an energy audit on their home.

|
|

Students learn how compact fluorescent lighting, solar screens and low-flow showerheads can save energy and water for their homes.

|
|
|
|
Janice Durst of CTEC helps students understand how electricity is brought into their homes.

Students learn about the different sources of energy in their home and the relationship between the use of energy and help protect our environment.
