Students receive an 8-page energy investigation guide to take home and fill out with their parent's assistance. By answering questions from the Guide, students complete an energy audit on their home. Rosie Meurer, CTEC helps students with the program.

As a result of the home energy investigation, each student receives a 4-page personalized report. The reports inform students of their household's energy use and compares it with Texas' average household consumption. The report also provides energy and water-saving tips. Daisy Schneider of the City of Fredericksburg assists a student with information on his report.
