The City of Smithville sponsored the POWERHOUSE energy investigation program at Smithville Junior High School for their 6th grade science students.

Each student received an 8-page energy investigation guide to take home and fill out with their parent's assistance. The investigation guide asks questions that allow students to perform an energy audit on their home.

Students received a 4-page personalized report from the information collected in their investigation guide. Students learn the environmental impacts that their household's have on the air, water and land through their yearly energy and water use.

Students learn about energy and water efficiency from the POWERHOUSE energy investigation program. Here is an example of a compact flourescent light bulb that can easily replace incandescent bulbs and save energy and dollars.

Thank you the City of Smithville for sponsoring POWERHOUSE for Smithville Jr. High School. It was a fun way to learn about saving energy and water. Make your house a POWERHOUSE!
