The City of Giddings brought the POWERHOUSE energy investigation program to the seventh grade science students at Immanuel Lutheran School.

Each student filled out an 8-page energy audit of their own home with the help of their parents.

Each student received a personalize report base on their homes energy audit. The report shows their home's estimated use and cost of energy, water and related resources of using electricity.

Students learn how much energy their home uses and how they can save money on their utility bills by changing thermostats to energy efficient settings, such as 78 degrees for summer cooling.

The personalized report also shows how much coal it takes to produce the electricity for their home for one year and how much water their home uses for that one year.

POWERHOUSE is a great way to learn about energy and water efficiency and it's fun too!

Thank you to the City of Giddings for sponsoring POWERHOUSE for our school.
