POWERHOUSE was brought to Navarro Intermediate School by Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC).
Each student received an 8-page energy investigation booklet which they took home to perform a home energy audit with the help of their parents. The booklet asked questions about their homes' energy and water use.

As a result of the home energy investigation, students received a personalized four-page report. From this report students learned how the environment is impacted by their households' use of energy. The report also has tips and savings on how to reduce their energy and water cost. Tammi Murphy of GVEC helps a student understand the information in the report.

Students learn about the relationship between the use of energy and the environment as well as ways to use energy and water efficiently.
The reports tell students how many tons of coal is used to produce electricity for their home for one year's usage.
Students learn that low-flow devises and compact fluorescent lighting can help reduce their energy and water costs.

Students play a "jeopardy-type" game as a review for a quiz that is offered to their teacher. Rodger Bading of GVEC works with students to find the answers for the game.
