The POWERHOUSE energy investigation program was brought to St. Michael's School by the City of Weimar, FEC and SBEC. Students did an energy audit of their home though the POWERHOUSE energy investigation booklet. Each student received a 4-page personalized report based on their answers to the energy investigation booklet. The personalized report helps students and their families see how they can help conserve resources by recommending ways to save energy and water. It lists patterns of energy and water use, comparisons with statewide average households and energy and water-saving tips.
Students learn that low-flow devises and compact fluorescent lighting can help reduce their energy and water costs.
Students play a "jeopardy-type" game as a review for a quiz that is offered to their teacher.
