The illegal disposal of waste along highways, in parks, along creeks and rivers is a growing problem in the Central Texas area. Illegally dumped items have been found polluting the Colorado River watershed, including lead acid batteries, appliances, household garbage, building materials, vehicles, old tires, waste drums and chemicals such as paint, oil and antifreeze.
