With so many locations a short drive from cities, LCRA lakes, parks and river sites are ideal for connecting people with the environment of Central and South Texas. There are few limits to the fun-filled outdoor activities people can enjoy, including: boating, water skiing, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, swimming, hiking, nature photography, picnicking, bird-watching and camping.

- LCRA has 16,440 acres of parks and preserves between the Texas Hill Country and Matagorda Bay for the public to enjoy.
- LCRA managed lakes include Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, Lake Travis and Lakes Bastrop and Fayatte.
- The most popular lake, Lake Travis, attracts about 1 million visitors a year.
