Dry and Milder Weather Expected Next Week
OCT. 31, 2025
Fall-like temperatures finally arrived across Central and South Texas. Readings Thursday and Friday mornings were the coolest observed since back in early April. According to LCRA’s Hydromet, lows Friday morning were generally in the mid and upper 30s across the Hill Country, in the upper 30s to low 40s across Central Texas, and in the mid and upper 40s across the coastal plains. Several low-lying locations across the Hill Country did report lows of 30-32 degrees. In Austin, Camp Mabry recorded a minimum temperature Friday morning of 43 degrees, while Austin-Bergstrom International Airport reported a low of 38 degrees.
Sunny and quiet weather conditions are in place on this Halloween in the wake of Wednesday’s strong cold front. Friday’s analysis didn’t show any atmospheric ghouls or goblins in place that could potentially influence the weather through Friday night. Surface winds have shifted back to the south and southeast, but wind speeds will remain light –around 5 mph through Friday night. Under a sunny sky, temperatures are predicted to warm to the low and mid-70s. Temperatures Friday night are not expected to be quite as cool as they were Friday morning. Lows Saturday morning are forecast to be in the mid and upper 40s across the Hill Country and Central Texas regions, and in the low 50s towards the coast.
For the Trick or Treaters, the weather should be nearly perfect Friday evening. Temperatures late Friday afternoon are forecast to be in the low 70s, with readings falling into the 60s around sunset.
Some small changes in the weather are forecast Saturday when a trough of low pressure tracks southeast from the central Plains, forcing a weak cold front southeast through Texas. The front is predicted to spread across the Hill Country Saturday morning into early Saturday afternoon, moving across Central Texas Saturday afternoon. The front is expected to push off the middle Texas coast early Saturday evening. Forecast solutions indicate a few spotty light rain showers may develop along the front beginning across the eastern Hill Country, continuing southeast to the coast. However, with limited moisture in place, any showers which develop will be spotty and light. Rain amounts, if any, should only total a few hundredths of an inch. The probability for rain will at best be 20 percent. These potential showers should quickly end once the front pushes through the area. Expect a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky on Saturday.
Saturday’s cold front is forecast to bring a reinforcing shot of cool air that will persist into Monday. Sunny and dry weather is forecast Sunday, continuing through late next week as Texas comes under the influence of a broad ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere. Milder temperatures will return beginning late Monday into Tuesday as southerly breezes bring warmer air north from the Gulf.
- Lows Sunday morning will include the low 40s across the Hill Country, the mid-40s across Central Texas, and near 48-50 degrees towards the coast
- Low Monday morning are forecast to be in the upper 40s to low 50s at most locations
- Lows Tuesday through Friday mornings will range from the low 50s across the Hill Country, to the low 60s near the coast
- High temperatures Sunday are predicted to be in the mid-70s
- Highs Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be near 80 degrees
- High temperatures Wednesday through Friday are forecast to be in the low and mid-80s
The outlook for next weekend and the week of November 10th shows few changes for our region. No strong cold fronts are anticipated, and no rain is expected over this upcoming period. Mild temperatures look to continue. Expect highs in the low and mid-80s, with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Tropical Weather Outlook
Weather conditions across the Gulf and Caribbean area quiet and tropical cyclone development is not forecast over the next seven days.
The remnants of what had been Hurricane Melissa lost their tropical characteristics late Thursday and it is now classified as a post-tropical cyclone. The system was located a few hundred miles north-northeast of Bermuda and was racing off to the northeast at 48 mph.

Time Change Weekend
Daylight Saving Time will be coming to an end this Sunday morning, November 2nd, at 2 am. At that time or before we go to bed, we’ll “fall back,” by setting out clocks back one hour and gaining an extra hour. With the change, it will get darker earlier in the evening and it will be lighter earlier in the morning.
Have a great weekend!
Bob
