LCRA has provided reliable and cost-effective electric transmission services to Texans for decades. As one of the largest transmission service providers in the state, LCRA Transmission Services Corporation is a key contributor to projects that make electric service in Texas accessible, resilient and reliable.
During the past fiscal year, LCRA TSC completed projects totaling almost $400 million, while successfully and safely maintaining or operating about 5,400 miles of transmission lines and equipment at about 420 substations with a system availability of 99.997%.
LCRA TSC plans to invest about $2.1 billion over the next five years to build new transmission facilities and improve existing ones to support growth and increase the reliability of power infrastructure in our state.
How we locate new lines
The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) must approve the construction of all transmission lines of more than one mile in Texas. LCRA TSC encourages people to become involved in the public involvement process. Learn more.
