Steps Forward Day is a way for LCRA to give back to its customers and partner with them on projects that help their communities. During the annual day of service, LCRA employees help complete projects like cleaning parks, improving playgrounds, painting park buildings and athletic field equipment, and improving landscaping with new plants and mulch. Steps Forward Day 2021 was held on Friday, April 9.

Since we launched the program, hundreds of our employees have worked on more than 150 community projects from the Hill Country to the Texas Gulf Coast as part of Steps Forward Day.

Fence post painting at six baseball/softball fields.

Guard rail painting at the Giddings Municipal Golf Course.

Shelter repairs and flower bed cleanup at the Texas Botanical Gardens and Native American Interpretive Center.

GONZALES

Tree trimming debris cleanup at the Gonzales Frisbee Golf Course.

Plant installation along Phillips Ranch Road and nearby public restroom painting.

KEMPNER

Picnic table pavilion and handrail painting at Sylvia Tucker Memorial Park.

Concession stand painting at the Little League baseball fields.

Playground improvements and crushed granite installation along a path at the Sports Complex.

Plant trees, spread mulch, and install sod and signs at Yonder Point in Old Settlers Park.

SAN ANGELO

Remove dead vegetation at the San Angelo Regional Airport.

SAN MARCOS

Install landscaping downtown.

Paint a downtown pavilion.

Remove a fence downtown.

Lay sod at Mill Pond Park.

SCHULENBURG

Paint animal pipe fencing at the expo center.
