LCRA Environmental Laboratory Services

A NELAP laboratory providing quality testing to safeguard public health and ensure regulatory compliance.

ELS offers PFAS testing on drinking water, surface water, groundwater and wastewater samples.

EPA-approved methods

  • EPA 533
  • EPA 537.1

In April 2024, EPA announced the final National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) that established legally enforceable levels, called Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs), for two PFAS in drinking water. Under the final rule, public water systems must monitor these substances. If monitoring shows that drinking water levels exceed the MCLs, the public water systems must implement solutions that reduce the PFAS.

TCEQ is requiring public water systems complete initial PFAS monitoring by April 26, 2027.

If a public water system participated in UCMR 5, the data may possibly be used for initial monitoring requirements but would need to be reprocessed to meet the lower MCL requirements.

Meet TCEQ initial monitoring requirements

  1. Request a quote or order bottle kit.
  2. Sign and return quote to LCRA ELS.
  3. LCRA ELS will ship bottle kits or schedule sampling events and analyze samples.
  4. LCRA ELS will deliver the final report through the Client Data Portal.
