LCRA Steps Forward in the news

Steps Forward Day is a way for LCRA to give back to its customers and partner with them on projects that help their communities. During the annual day of service, LCRA employees help complete projects like cleaning parks, improving playgrounds, painting community buildings and athletic field equipment, and improving landscaping with new plants and mulch. Steps Forward Day 2026 was April 10.

Since we launched the program, hundreds of our employees have worked on more than 400 community projects from West Texas to the Gulf Coast as part of Steps Forward Day.

Paint exterior of the Buchanan Art Gallery

COLUMBUS

Refill walking paths with crushed granite, paint flag poles, and haul away tree trimmings at MidTown Park

COTTONWOOD SHORES

Replace playground ground cover at Aspen and Community parks

CUERO

Install wood fiber at playgrounds at Daule and Alexander parks

DRIPPING SPRINGS

Add edging, mulch and plants and improve the fire pit at Ranch House

Add mulch to the playground and paint a storage shed at Sports & Recreation Park and add mulch to the playgrounds at Founders Memorial and Neighborhood parks

EAGLE LAKE

Paint parking stripes around City Hall

FLATONIA

Plant trees and paint light poles at McWhirter Park

FREDERICKSBURG

Paint interior of the Pioneer Pavilion

Paint pipe fence at municipal golf course

Paint livestock pens at Fayette County fairgrounds

Paint restrooms at White Rock and Kruschel parks

LAMPASAS

Clean up along the banks of Sulphur Creek

LEXINGTON

Paint the gazebo on Heritage Square

LOCKHART

Install landscaping and split–rail fence at Brock Cabin in Lions Park

LULING

Paint handrails downtown and add plants and mulch to flower bed at Heritage Circle

MCCAMEY

Pick up litter around town

MARBLE FALLS

Lay sod at Johnson Park

Add plants and rock to a water catchment garden at Lakeside Park
