We are approved by TCEQ to analyze total coliforms and E.coli in drinking water.

The Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) establishes a maximum contaminant level for Escherichia coli (E. coli). Public water systems are required to comply with RTCR to prevent fecal contamination from entering drinking water distribution systems.
Meet TCEQ requirements
- Request a quote or order a bottle kit.
- If a quote is requested, sign and return quote.
- Fill out the TCEQ Revised Total Coliform Rule chain of custody correctly to avoid unnecessary sample rejections. Watch an instruction video.
- Collect samples for shipment. LCRA ELS only accepts bacteria samples Monday through Thursday. Bacteria samples are not accepted on Fridays.
- LCRA ELS will analyze samples and deliver the electronic data to TCEQ and release the final report through the Client Data Portal.
Local ELS courier services or preprinted express shipping labels are available for an additional fee. Please contact an Account Manager at 512-730-6022 to coordinate.
