LCRA is replacing the original floodgates on Tom Miller Dam to help ensure the dam operates reliably and safely for generations to come. The $9.9 million project continues LCRA's investment in the dam and marks the dam's second extensive renovation since it was completed in 1940.
During the 18-month project, the dam's nine floodgates are being removed one at a time and replaced with newly constructed, custom-made floodgates.
As of April 2020, four of the nine new floodgates have been installed. Work on the remaining floodgates is scheduled to be complete by late September 2020.
Tom Miller Dam remains capable of responding to floods and water supply needs throughout the project.
