

McKinney Roughs Nature Park
Just east of Austin, McKinney Roughs Nature Park has 1,100 acres of pine forests and box canyons where your child can experience outdoor adventures at weekly summer camps. Camps will operate in accordance with Texas Department of State Health Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Camps are limited to 10 campers per age group at this time.
Outdoor Camp – ages 5-12
Children ages 5-12 can attend up to six weeks of day camp starting June 14. Camp is Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with each week’s camp activities revolving around a different outdoor theme.
- Outdoor Camp – Turtles ages 5-6 | Buffaloes ages 7-8 | Eagles ages 9-12
Teen Adventure Camp – ages 13-15
Teens ages 13-15 can attend one week of day camp starting Aug. 2. Camp is weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with each week’s camp activities revolving around a different outdoor theme.
Optional shuttle service
- $75 per week from two Austin locations:
- LCRA General Office Complex – 3700 Lake Austin Blvd.
- Pickup: 7:30 a.m. / Drop-off: 5:15 p.m.
- LCRA Dalchau Service Center – 3505 Montopolis Dr.
- Pickup: 8:15 a.m. / Drop-off: 4:30 p.m.
- LCRA General Office Complex – 3700 Lake Austin Blvd.

Full payment is required at the time of registration. Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards are accepted.
- Outdoor Camp and Teen Adventure Camp – $225 per week
Camp installment plan
Anyone registering for four or more sessions may place a 50 percent deposit at the time of registration and pay the remaining balance by May 15. You must register for this option by calling 512-303-5073. If the remaining balance is not paid by May 15, the registration will be canceled and the deposit will be forfeited.
Camp cancellation policy
No refunds will be given for cancellations after May 15. For cancellations made on or before May 15, your tuition will be refunded minus a $35 processing fee for each camp session canceled. Cancellations should be made by emailing [email protected]. Include the camper’s name and session(s) you wish to cancel. A confirmation email will be sent to you after the refund is processed.
Session transfers
After registration is complete, campers may transfer to a different session by paying a $10 transfer fee. Email [email protected]ra.org to request a transfer. Include the camper’s name and session(s) to which you want to transfer. We will do our best to accommodate transfers. You will receive an email notifying you of the status of your request.
Matagorda Bay Nature Park
Just south of Bay City, Matagorda Bay Nature Park has miles of both beach and river access where your child can experience outdoor adventures at weekly summer camps. Camps will operate in accordance with Texas Department of State Health Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. Camps are limited to 10 campers per age group at this time.
Outdoor Camp – ages 5-12
Children ages 5-12 can attend up to three weeks of day camp starting June 14. Camp is weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with each week’s camp activities revolving around a different outdoor theme.
Teen Adventure Camp – ages 13-15
Teens ages 13-15 can attend one week of day camp starting June 28. Camp is weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with activities revolving around an outdoor theme.
Optional complimentary shuttle service
Shuttle service availability will be dependent on Texas Department of State Health Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. This service is not guaranteed, but waitlist signup is available on our camp registration page.
